BRISD Administration & School Board members began evaluating current maintenance requirements in September of 2008. Cost comparative proposals obtained to evaluate options for improving current structures vs. building new were conducted. The cost to improve current structures for BRISD is $3.5M.

Do the math. Two new schools for $4.1M or two improved schools for $3.5M.

Your vote for the bond ensures that BRISD is taking full advantage of the opportunities provided by the state.

Vote May 8, 2010

Blue Ridge Independent School District is calling for a Bond Election May 8, 2010. Improvements to the BRISD schools include both new Elementary and Middle School buildings.

We need your vote. This bond funds capital improvements to provide a cutting edge learning environment for all BRISD students.
BRISD will apply for an Instruction Facilities Allotment (IFA) from the State of Texas after the Bond is voted in. Upon award of the IFA, BRISD will receive approximately $3.4M in funding, bringing our district portion of the capital improvements down to $4.1M.

The total cost of the project will be $7.5M.
